The Parish Hall -Registered Charity No: 1016238
Ashwater Parish Hall was opened in March 2010 by Cllr Barry Parsons. The hall replaced the previous one that had been in constant use since 1929 and had reached its expiry date.
The people of Ashwater donated and raised funds which together with grants from a variety of sources including the Big Lottery Fund enabled the building to be erected on a site donated for the purpose by the late Jack Moon.
The hall was an immediate success with use exceeding all projections and expectations. It was soon obvious to the Trustees that an extension would be required especially as the kitchen was enlarged by use of a small meeting room within a short space of time.
Consequently plans have been drawn up and passed for an annexe to be built, which will permit stand alone use as well as assist with much needed storage space.
The business plan has now been adopted and targets set to achieve the necessary funds of circa £75,000 to enable building to be commenced and complete by the end of 2017. To see the business plan please click here: Hall_Annexe_Business_Plan_ver1.pdf
Fund raising is now a necessity and a number of events will be held as well as possible grant sources explored. We have raised or been pledged over £13,000 to date (April 2017), which means we have a way to go!
If you would like to make a small donation, arrange a fund raising event or simply put forward some ideas please contact the Hall Secretary: Ivan Buxton - Tel: 01409 221073 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Meanwhile carry on hiring and enjoying the use of the hall. See below for fees, terms and conditions files to down load in PDF Format.

Railway Closure Commemoration Fund Raising Event - THANK YOU
The Weekend (31st March - 2nd April 2017) was a tremendous success, the cream teas sold out, over 100 partook of the Sunday lunch and both the coffee morning and cheese and wine events were extremely well attended.
The displays of memorabilia relating to the railway and Ashwater in general were nothing short of brilliant (even if we do say so ourselves), because so many people from across the region and beyond contributed photos, post cards, articles, books and documents.
Proceeds from the weekend coupled with the generous donations from Letitia Yetman's birthday party held at the hall on 18th March and over £300 from the Waitrose community fund enabled us to transfer £1985 towards the hall extension. Thank you very much all concerned.
The Trustees next meet on Thursday 27th April 2017 when standing items (Treasurer's Report, Health and Safety, Maintenance and Extension Funding) will be discussed. A previous resolution was passed at the January Trustees Meeting to amend and recommend adoption of a revised constitution at the next AGM which will be held on 31st May 2017 in the hall at 7.30pm.
